Specialist Endodontic Care, In-House

4.9 stars across 1,300+ Google reviews, and your treatment comes from a dedicated endodontist, not a referral across town.

Dr. Jimmy Pham, DDS, a Southern California native, earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine, his dental degree from the USC School of Dentistry in 2007, and completed specialized endodontic training at Boston University in 2015. He is deeply committed to the highest standards in endodontic care, using current techniques and technology to diagnose precisely and treat comfortably. Because endodontics is his focus, tooth-saving procedures are not occasional work here, they are his specialty.

“As an older guy, I was a bit nervous about getting restorative treatment, but Vartanian Dental Group made it a breeze. The team was super patient and took great care of me every step of the way.”

Endodontic Treatments We Offer

The goal of endodontics is always the same:
relieve your pain and save your natural tooth whenever possible.

Root Canal Therapy

The most common endodontic treatment. Dr. Pham removes the infected tissue from inside the tooth, cleans and seals the canals, and relieves the pain, all while keeping your natural tooth in place.

Endodontic Retreatment

Sometimes a tooth that had a root canal years ago develops new problems. Retreatment reopens the tooth, clears the issue, and gives it a second chance, often saving a tooth that would otherwise need removal.

Treatment for Cracked &Traumatized Teeth

Cracks and dental injuries can expose or damage the pulp inside a tooth. Dr. Pham diagnoses the extent of the damage with advanced imaging and treats it to preserve the tooth where possible.

Diagnosis of Tooth Pain

Tooth pain is not always easy to pinpoint. As a specialist in the inside of the tooth, Dr. Pham uses digital imaging and 3D scans to find the true source and recommend the right treatment.

When You Need an Endodontist

You may see an endodontist on your own or because your dentist referred you. Dr. Pham provides specialist care to save teeth affected by deep decay, infection, or injury. He treats:

  • Infected or inflamed tooth pulp (the soft tissue inside the tooth)
  • Severe or lingering tooth pain and sensitivity
  • Abscesses and infection at the root of a tooth
  • Cracked or traumatized teeth
  • Teeth that need a previous root canal redone

If you are in pain right now or think you may need a root canal, that page covers the procedure in detail. When a case is complex or needs specialist attention, that is where Dr. Pham’s expertise makes the difference.

Save the Tooth, In One Office

Saving a natural tooth is almost always better than losing it. Your own tooth maintains your bite, your jawbone, and your natural appearance in a way no replacement fully matches. Endodontic treatment is how a tooth that seems lost can often be kept.

And because Vartanian Dental Group brings specialists and general care together, your endodontic treatment connects seamlessly with the rest of your care. If a treated tooth needs a crown afterward to protect it, or if a tooth truly cannot be saved and you are weighing an implant, the right team is already in the building. One office, one record, one plan.

You will find us on the first floor of Pacific Canyons Medical Center at 26302 La Paz Rd #203, just off the I-5 at the La Paz Road exit, with on-site parking. We care for patients from across the city, Rancho Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Niguel, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Aliso Viejo.

Frequently Asked Questions

An endodontist is a dentist with advanced training focused on the inside of the tooth, the pulp and nerve, and on saving teeth through treatments like root canals. Dr. Pham completed specialized endodontic training at Boston University after dental school.

All endodontists are dentists, but they have additional specialist training in diagnosing tooth pain and performing root canals and other tooth-saving procedures. For complex cases, that focused expertise can make the difference in saving a tooth.

No. Many patients are referred by a dentist, but you can also book directly. If you have ongoing tooth pain, an infection, or have been told you may need a root canal, a consultation is a good first step.

Modern endodontic treatment is performed with full numbing, so you should feel pressure rather than pain. In fact, the procedure relieves the pain caused by the infected or inflamed tooth. Mild soreness afterward usually settles within a couple of days.

Yes. If a previously treated tooth develops new problems, endodontic retreatment can often resolve the issue and save the tooth, avoiding removal.

Many PPO and HMO plans cover endodontic care in part. We verify your specific benefits before treatment so you know your out-of-pocket cost in advance, and offer payment plans for any balance.
